Where the Heck is Ellersile ?

Different Auckland town centres have adopted Rugby teams from countries that qualified for the World Cup.
I found out information about :
The location in Auckland;
Something special about this place;
A 'potted' history of the place;
If it has it's own symbol of some sort.
(If we couldn't find a symbol we chose a picture that told more about the place).

Ellersile is the host town centre for the Fijian 2011Rugby World Cup . It is a suburb 4km from Auckland City .

Ellersile is well known for their Race Course.

By the end of the nineteenth century horse racing become the foremost industry in the district . The first race at Ellersile was held in1857 on land towards the end of Tecoma street , attended by Governor Gore Brown .

  1. Hey Rachael,
    Great post about where Ellerslie is! I love how you added extra detail about important facts in Ellerslie. Now that I know Ellerslie is the host to the Fijian Rugby world cup team, What town is the host town for Tonga? 1 more question: What team do you support for the RWC 2011?

    If you have time you can come on to my blog and tell me your answer to those questions.

    Keep up the superb work!!
    Bye!
