Alfred J Gross


Alfred J Gross is well known for inventing the Walkie Talkie. Walkie Talkie’s other name is Handheld Transcelver. Walkie Talkies are Handheld portable Radios.

Alfred J Gross was born in 1918 in Tornoto Ontario Canada and died in 2001 age 82 Years.

1997:Marconi Memorial Gold Medal of Achievement

1998: Eta Kappa Nu's Vladimir Karapetoff

1999:Edwin Howard Armstrong Achievement Award

2000:IEEE Millennium and Lemelson-MIT Lifetime


Achievement Award for Invention and Innovation. In 1950 he tried in vain to interest telephone companies in mobile telephony. Bell Telephone was uninterested.

Gross became working as a specialist in Microwave and other Communication System.


Alfred J Gross’s design has change the world a lot and has been a help to us all. Even though Alfred J Gross has passed away his inventiom is useful to Jobs that are important like Policemen.
