Cross- Country

BANG ! We were off . You could see that the girls were determine to win and earn points for their house colours.

At Point England School we have an annual event - Cross Country .

In the past 8 years I have did the Cross- Country run , but this years one was hard and tiring . I think the hardest part was the bush walk side. The thing that made it difficult for me was that I ran bare feet and the stones and rocks made my feet numb .

The year 8's ran 3.5km and the year 7's ran 3.km. It was good seeing mostly everyone participating and supporting each other .

The Marshall's did a really good job guiding and supporting us . And for Ms V for organising this for us . It was a lot of fun and a good exercise and experience.

We are using the nations of the 2011 Rugby World Cup as our inquiry path.

For this unit we are in one of four teams: Brumbies, Force, Rebels, Stormers.

My team is Rebels.

There will be a number of tasks for us to navigate to achieve our goal of an excellent result in this unit. There are a mixture of individual and team tasks to be completed. The main task that will show our learning in this unit will be a Hyperstudio presentation about one of the countries in the World Cup competition.

I think the Rugby World Cup will be a big DEAL to us New Zealander' s because this will be the last time that the world cup will be held here . I think that the All Blacks are going to win this because they have a really good team , and most of them a experienced. I wonder if the All Blacks are going to beat Australia ? My favorite player are Jimmy Cowan , Daniel Carter , Sonny Bill Williamas and Richie Mccaw .

The Christchurch inventor Glen Martin who invented Jet Packs.

Glen Martin discovered that his own invention could be innovated.

The US military laughed about this and it made him more determine.

Glen Martin firstly said that the height of the invention could be a lot different.

First he used a Remote Control to control the jet pack for safety matters then a Crash Test Dummy then a real person. It is way better then a helicopter because it can go to places where helicopter cannot go like the sides of Cliffs, between trees and Buildings.

Cars today are really different from 50-100 years ago, because they are made Bigger, Better, Faster, Stronger. There are a lot of types of cars, there is the four wheel drive and two wheel drive, Suzuki and Holden, petrol and diesel, hybrid (petrol and electric together) and electric and many, many more innovations! People in 19th century used bicycles instead of motor cars or they will walk. There can be cars that have a lot of wheels. In some flash cars their can be T.V’s at the back of their seats and if you are lucky you can get a Cup Holder.

Looking Back I thought that it wasn’t my best term I thought I could do a lot better on my learning and my attitude.
My best highlight was camp Take Charge, I got to learn how to be a leader and I learnt a lot about other people who I never hanged around with.
Technology was enjoyable to, I got to do Graphics and get to know Miss Ferguson and the skills she taught us in Graphics were amazing. I learnt a lot about colours and design. I think I did well on my project and it was a lot of fun making my Pop Corn Package.
Taonga time was something new it was good to get split up and be with others and being in Mrs Lagitupu’s class was really cool, because it was fun printing things that was
special in our life’s. The things I choose were Religious, Netball, Culture.

This Term the things I cant wait for is Sports, especially netball. I cant wait to play against other Schools that I haven’t played.

Everyone has someone to look up to and in Netball I look up to the one and only Irene Van Dyk. Every since I first started playing Netball Irene Van Dyk was a big inspiration to me. Her shooting is phenomenal and I play the same position, Goal Shooter (GS), as her.

I enjoy watching her on the courts, the teams she plays for are the Mystics and the Silver Ferns, the New Zealand national team. She is a great role model for the little ones who have just started Netball.

Hope you are. I am writing this letter to give an up to date about things at school. The things that I do and enjoy at school is working on my net book. Because we can play games and do our work on Google Docs.

This year I’m planing to play sports like netball and other sports that year 8 girls can participate in.
My goal this year inside class is to stop talking when I am not suppose to and not to distract people and myself from our learning.

Camp is coming up, it was a shock to me knowing that I was a camp leader. My group is called the Thinkerz. After wards we had to get a group chant ready, I had no idea what group chant we were going to use. Luckily we had Kalim the singing master he thought of something from Wnnie the Pooh,

So when Mrs Nua told us to say our chant, so then Kalim lead the chant and our group just went with the flow. I didn’t know the lyrics so every one just mumbled through out the chant.

For me being a Camp leader was not easy, I thought it was easy though but the thing I enjoyed the most was getting to know them and working with Tamati. On the concert night our group came 2ND even though we weren’t prepared

AFTER CAMP

After camp

Camp was an amazing experience and I enjoyed ever single minute of it.
It was good to know every one in my group
we did a lot of activities, some we haven't done before and it was good to have Mr Barks as our camp teacher.

The camp concert day had arrived. We kind of changed some stuff and we weren’t organised. But the girls were fine because their were only 4 of us. The songs that we choose were “Forget you and Maori boy. Even though we weren’t organised we came 2ND. When Mr Jacobsen ( one of our judges) said we came 2ND I was speechless I turned around to see how my group will react. People jumping around and I saw a lot of Shocked faces. We were all Shock

I would like to Thank everyone who made this possible and to everyone who stayed up when we were still sleeping. I would like to thank Ms Hopa and her crew for cooking the best camp food ever and I would like to thank people who helped do the Hangi. It was DELICIOUS!

Day 1 at Camp Taking Charge

It's been a heck of a day ! We've done a lot of stuff today. My favourite highlight was Team Building and Kayaking. Team Building was really! We had to do diffculit tasks like signing your name on Sticky Tape but having it attached to a long pole. We had a lot of strategies that our group (Thinkerz) came up with. A lot of us had a plan to stand on each others shoulders and hold on to the pole and write their name.

I thought it was easy being the tallest girl, but even I couldn't reach the Sticky Tape. Poor Jordan, Kalim and Tamati had to left me up. I could hear them saying, "come on you're so heavy" I wrote my name quickly and jumped back down. I so felt sorry for them though.

We have just finish filming our MTV Video. And the song that our group choose was ' Love me always' By Tuita Boiz.

I can't wait until tomorrow because there are a lot more activity's to do.

BEEP!!!! “ Flight NZ 977 to Tonga is delayed till 10:38pm. I couldn’t believe my luck.
I quickly turn back to see how my mum react. She was fine with it, she didn’t care though.
I was astonished because we were given free vouchers 12 dollars each, for the long delayed. We were suppose to fly to Tonga at 6:30 and we got to the airport at 3:00. It was frustrating because we had to wait another 7 hours.

Finally 10:38pm had arrived, we got into the plane. 2 hours and 45 minutes later.
We reached our Destination ( Tonga). We got our plane and went and look for our bags.
We walked through the door to outside. We were looking all over for my cousins, who was picking us up. All you see are big Palm trees.

Greymouth's Darkest Days

Last Friday a sad thing happened in GreyMouth. 29 Miners were trapped under Ground. It has been a sad week for the families of those who had lost their loved ones. I watched the news to see if there had been any updates on the GreyMouth miners.

It was sad to see the CEO on the news telling the bad new to the families of the 29 miners that they couldn't go down to rescue their bodies immediately due to the heavy gas levels in the mine. Otherwise, if they go, they might have caused another explosion.

There have been 4 explosions so far, The Prime Minister is taking it very seriously. It is now being called one of Grey mouths darkest days

The sad thing was that the youngest miner was only 17 years old and it was his first day on the job when the disaster occurred. He was'nt suppose to work on that day, but he asked his boss.

It was good to see the Queen and Australia and other countries showing their condolences. Again, I feel really sorry for the families of the 29 miners.

Athletics

Throw off. I was so nervous because I had to battle against Gabrielle for 2nd place. My shot put throw went further then Gabrielle’s throw, which meant that I came 2nd and Gabrielle came 3rd. It was very fortunate for me but unfortunate for my cousin Sela, who was in 3rd place but got knocked out because Gabrielle was now in 3rd place.

For you guys that don’t know what Athletics Day is, its an annual event that happens at our school on our school field. There are a bunch of event/activities like Shot-put, Discus, High Jump, Sprints and our newest event-Javelin. After high jump was sprints, then after sprints was discus. I hadn't come any place in discus in the previous Athletics Days, so I was determined to come a place in at least 1 event. I founbd out that if you go last, you've got a more successful chance of coming a place in something. Thats exactly what I did in discus and what do you know, I came 1st!! But again I knocked my cousin Sela out of 3rd place (again!)

At the end of it all, I was pretty proud of myself as I came 1st in Discus and 2nd in Shotput!! I also made it into the Eastern Zone Athletics which will be held next week on Wednesday at Lloyds Elsmore Park!! I can't wait.

Point England's FIRST TIME EVER Swimming Pool

Today some Room 20 students got to have a swim in a portable pool. It was fun to get a chance to learn some of the saftey rules. We were all excitied to get into the pool , because it was a very hot day. But when we got into the pool we were all shivering most of us was cold. But through out the session we were all warm. I really enjoyed swimming in our pool.

My Trip to Australia

During the last month I have been away at Australia for a funeral. I went with my mum and we stayed with her family at Sydney. The next day we went to the chapel to see the body, it was kind of scary sitting next to a dead body! Even though it was a sad time everybody just laughed and talked about the good times they had with the person (who just died.)

That night we had a failotu which is like a prayer service, the body wasn’t there because it was getting prepared for the funeral. There were lots of relatives that I didn’t know but the failotu was a good time to get to know my mother’s side. After that we went over to my aunty’s house to get the food ready for the apo ( The night before the burial service and everybody has to stay up all night.)

After we finished packing the food, we went into the church. Because it was a funeral we were supposed to wear black. I sort of panicked because I was wearing purple but luckily my mum bought some black clothes. There were family and friends, and his daughter told us a very touching speech filled with the good and sad times of her dad.

When the funeral was finished everybody was crying especially the wife. There was also a priest who was there and he blessed the coffin. It was sad that my uncle had past away but it was also a happy time because I got to see some of my relatives that I had never seen before!!

Counties Manukau vs Manawatu

On Saturday afternoon I got to go with my sister to her husband's Rugby game against Manawatu. The game was at Pukekohe. We found our seats way at the back of the stadium. The other teams that were playing were Counies Manukau B with Auckland B. As I looked at the back lots and lots of people were trying to find their seats. When the game was about to start a little girl from the Counties team ran and put the ball in the centre of the field. The commentators said that her dad was her favourite player.

When the game started Manawatu had the ball first. Counties did Painful,Solid and Dangerous tackles. My brother in law's was on the feild his position is Half Back number 9. Counties had the first try it was a solid run by someone named something Tuala. Everyone was on the edge of the seats when Counties got the finally try everyone throw their beer bottles on the feild. After the game counties won 35-14 everyone was happy and some were getting smart to the Manawatu team. I didn't think that was nice. After that my sister and I waited for the car for him, because they had a Afterfunction.

Maritime musuem

Couple of weeks ago the year sevens got to experience the Maritime Museum. The thing I liked about the museum was looking at how the people back then lived. I really enjoyed going on a boat ride, sometimes I wanted the boat to go faster but we had to go SLOW. The scariest part was going under the Harbour Bridge. After that we got to see a movie about how people traveled to New Zealand. When a storm occurred in the movie their was a slight breeze on the bottom of my feet. We actually got to see a Canaan exploded. I really love touring the museum and seeing the shops back then instead of watching movies I finally saw one. It would've been better if we got to see REAL Ice Cream in the Ice Cream shop. I learnt alot about Peter Blake and Captain James Cook. I would love to go and visit the museum again.

Life Education

2 weeks ago we had a massive caravan that was at school, it's called Life education. I remember the truck because they come to school every year when I was small and now. I really enjoyed my time their because their were stuff that I never knew and did you know that their are 4,000 chemicals in ONE smoke and 200 can cause CANCER. When Lynn told me that I was very surprise lots of my family smokes. We learnt how to make good choices by rejecting stuff like Smoking and Drinking. I can't stand one of my family members smokes in front of me. We saw lots of photos that peoples body are like when they smoke when I saw these photos I never want to smoke AGAIN. We watched a movie about this lady that cant talk but she still smokes. My dad use to smoke but he quit because he wanted to be a good Role model to us kids.

Girls Basketball tornament

As we head down to ASB Stadium all the girls had goals for the day, mine was to beat Glen Taylor and Tamaki Intermediate. Others was to get player of the Day. As we excitingly watched other teams play we were nervous and talking about our game plan. I was very worried because the players looked like profesitonals, but Mrs Nua said to us don't worry we're going to do fine. When it was our turn to play I was really really nervous because this was my first time playing Basketball in my whole in tire life. We played against this school I forgot the name of the school. There was this girl and she sometimes feel by herself, I accidentally made her fall, I think she fell 6 times, I was very having fun, the referee kept on giving us fouls when we MADE that girl fall. Every game we improved on. Our next game was against Bailey Road one of our team mates sister was playing. Mrs Nua told us to aim for a person our own size. We lost against Bailey Road but it wasn't by much. The next team was Parnell the boys lost by lots of points but we only lost by 20. When all our games was all finished. I said to my team this is the last time I was ever going to play basketball. Then Mrs Nua said that a man that was referring our game wanted my details so I can trial out for Auckland I think.

CHAMPION NEVER GIVES UP!!!!!

As we got to the courts our team Crew 2 was very nervous, because this was our Championship game and we were coming first in our grade. When Mrs Nua told us we were shock and surprise. Because We thought we were coming 7th, but we were actually coming first. If we lost this game then we would of came runners up. That would've been alright at least we came 2nd or 3rd. But I wanted to come 1st anyway. As we saw our opposition walking towards the court, the girls were busying staring at them, some were tall and some were short. I couldn't wait to play. We had our secret weapon with us they were the LOLLIES. As I walk to to the court I heard my partner say that I was tall. I didn't care at all I wanted was to play. When the empire blew the whistle I was hyped up and I ran to the center so she can throw me the ball. The hard part about this game is when you pass it their are a lot of people saying your name and when you pass it then they might lose it. We got the first shot in, I was pretty happy. My coach Missy she was telling us what we can improve on. So far this whole season we've played Netball I haven't been subbed yet. My favourite position is GA/GS, when netball finished and the buzzer rang. I was really nervous because one of our team mates brother (Penny) said we lost by miles. I was guttered and stink. Then he said JOKES I was happy and Surprise, we wanted to surprise Mrs Nua. She walked towards us because her teams game was finished. I ran up to her and said I got bad news, when I said it to her she looked very sad and disappointed and I Shouted WE WON 11-20. Her frown turn upside down and she looked pleased. We asked her did her team win she said they LOST by 3 points I started to laugh because I thought she was lying and I told her that She can lie. But I asked her team and they said it was true they lost. So that meant that they are coming runners up for their grade and we came 1st in our grade.

On Saturday I had to get dress really early because my cousin was getting married. As I hopped into the van I remember that it was my birthday. I didn't tell any one I was trying to give hints to my family but nothing changed.
When we got there my mum told me to go to the front to take photos. They asked me if I wanted to be a bridesmaid but I refuse, because I recalled being a flower girl when I was little, I always had to walk around where ever the bride went.
At the church she decorated the church with green flax when the ceremony finished then we went straight to the hall, where the food was at. The hall was Green ,Green and Green. The Ice cream was Green even the drinks were green. Mostly everything was green. The Bridesmaid's dresses were green and they wore this Tongan thing called Ta'uvala. The boys wore Grey and Green. My favourite dance was this hip hop Group it was performed by these boys from her Work. They remixed Michael Jackson's song with other songs that I loved. The funniest part was the Walt everyone did the walut most of us did. The funniest ones were the old people. Everyone couldn't stop laughing. When all the girls came in to do a Tongan, their costume were stunning.
When it was time to go the bridesmaid's and the Groom said their thanking us for coming and saying other stuff. After that they each gave us some gifts.

OMG!!! It wasn't really the best Holiday I imagine, all I did was babysit

my little niece and went to the movies. I really love the movie my cousins and I watched.

It was Twilight Eclipse it was an awesome movie. We watched it at Hoyts at Sylvia

Park. If I had to rate the movie I"ll rate it 9/10 the movie started at 3:50 and finished

at 6:03 pm ,the movie is about a girl that's human and has to choose out of a wolf or a Vampire. It's very interesting and exciting. When I grab some Pop Corn it drops because I sometimes have frights at some scenes. My favourite character is Jacob and his pack of wolfs and Alice. They say it is the best movie in the Twilight series. I reckon it is. I cannot wait till Braking Drawn comes out, people say it might be the last Twilight ever. I hope not.

Our New Uniform

These Uniforms are very special to us, Don't yous look Gorgeous!!! We heard Mr Burt (principle). We saw him taking photos of the other team. And we ask why not us, thinking that we are left out. Our old uniforms are T-shirts and short skirts. I reckon this is a big make over for us. We are lucky because the younger teams are still wearing the old uniforms.

DISASTER DAY

Today is a funny and weird day for us Point Englanders, because we are having a Disaster Day. This means we are going to have a pretend Earthquake and a pretend Tsunami. When this happens we have to walk to Ruapotaka. We just came back from Tech at Tamaki College and Morning Tea/Interval. Mrs Nua (teacher) just said that their have been little shakes of Earthquakes. I think this is a really funny day. The reason why we are doing this is because if a real earthquake and real Tsunami happened then this is what we have to do. A loud noise occurred then Mrs Nua said to get under the table. I thought she was just joking around, when I was looking around I saw Mrs Nua under HER desk. I could hear people laughing and calling for HELP.

Tonga vs Fiji

What a game against Tonga and Fiji it was a back and forward game. First of all Tonga got a try then Fiji got a try. My Brother in law Scored a try, his position is Half Back. His name is Samisoni. I am very happy that my country tried their best. The score at the end was 38-27. Both teams tried their best. The game is held in Samoa and I am not sure when the competition started. At the end a team has to win or lose. Tonga will be playing against Japan and Fiji will be playing against Samoa. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THESE TEAMS.

Mystics beat Fevers

What a win from the Mystics beating Fever, Catherine Latu and Maria Tutaia were on fire, shooting for gold. The Goal keeper for the Mystics team was the best intercepter in the ANZ Championship - just in front of Casey Williams.
The Fever were always contacting their opposition. They are quick when it's the centre pass throw in.
Temepara George is a phenomenal netball player. She is definitely the best person to play Centre in my opinion.
The final score was 62-52, I was pretty impressed, to be honest, I thought Fever was going to win.

Cyber Coaching

Before Morning Tea Mrs Nua said we are having a Surprise from Mr Burt (Principal). At first I thought it was a going to be about food. But my friend said it's going to better then food, she said we might have new uniforms. I thought it can't be about that, when we walked into the hall we saw 4 men's Just smiling at us. I was like it's definitely not about food. When I looked at the stage I saw this big black thing. I thought it was a TV, but then one of the man was touching the screen. Now then I was excited I thought we were going to play video games or something. Mr Burt was talking about this exercises called Cyber Coaching. It was sort of like Jump Jam, but even better. There were variety of dance moves, they combine with exercise moves as well. First we did SALSA, we were all moving our hips side to side. We had a tiring cession of fitness. My favourite exercise was the cheer leading at the hip Hop moves. Mr Burt was talking to the man who owned it, and the sales man. The reason why we had to try out is to see if kids all around NEW ZEALAND would like it. We were Lucky because we were the first school in NEW ZEALAND to try it out and use. Mr Burt had a big decision to either buy Cyber Coaching or not, it costs $ 5,000 dollars. It is fun for all ages.We could see that Mrs Nua and Ms Tito liked it too. After that we had to say our opinion about cyber Coaching they asked us lots of Questions. It's really a good work out for us, because we play lots and lots of sports.

I think the little ones will like it. HOPEFULLY Mr Burt saw us enjoying Cyber coaching and thought to buy it. FINGERS CROSS!!!!!!

YAY!!!!!! WE WON OUR FIRST GRADING GAME

We went up to the Netball courts, WOW I was exhausted because we had 4 tough Rugby games. When we were training at the courts, I couldn't even move my legs around. Missy (coach) was laughing at me. When I saw the team we were going to play against. I was like WOW they were really short and most of us were BIG and TALL . But Small people can be really good and tricky. When the Referee blew the whistle I was trying to trick the players. Because my partner asked the centre to come and help her, so it was 2 people trying to Defend me. I kept on talking Tongan to Vaha. I think the Referee was thinking what in earth is she saying. My team did a really good job at Defence and Attach. Paulitia did a good job being Goal Keep (GK) . We all did a really good job at our positions. We won 19-11 that was pretty good for our first grading game.

Congrats to Paulitia for getting the player of the Day.

Shocking News-Tactix Lose against Pulse!!

What an awesome game it was on Saturday-Tactix vs Pulse. I'm sure it was a big celebration for the Central Pulse knowing that they had won. I didn't know anything about this game until Mrs Nua (My teacher) told me about it. I was working on my State of Origin post when I heard this shocking news. To be honest I thought that the Tactix were going to beat the Pulse but it turns out they didn't!!

YEAH!!!!! I cant wait till this Wednesday, to watch the State Of Origin game.If you haven't heard about STATE OF ORIGINS. Its a team in Australia that players Rugby League, Most of my family goes for Queensland, my brother and I go for New South wales, because my uncle was the only one in my family that went for New South whales, and he died. My brothers are having bets to see who will win. The New South Wales team has a really good line up. I don't know about Queensland. They have terrific players. This game should not be missed. My family is definitely watching it.

This movie is our project at class. The Dead line was last Friday , Some finished before the Dead Line,and some people didn't like me. Mrs Nua (our teacher) she was always letting us go on the computers to finish it off. But we used the time to do our blogs , so I just had to do my voice over to complete my task. At the moment the Swifts are coming

in the lead of the ANZ Netball table. But it can all change.

The Magics are coming second that's the team I support.

They have intelligent players that are gifted.

Luckily a New Zealand team is coming second.

The Swifts haven't lost any games, I think they work

really hard. I'm sure that the coach is really really proud. But the Magics have only lost one game. That's pretty good for a New Zealand team.

This Sunday is Mothers Day, I don't know what am I going to do for my mum.Last year I made her breakfast in bed,and gave her a little gift.At church we get all the mums out and we give them gifts.Like lollie necklace or little gifts. Its mostly the Granny's that gets lots of gifts. Some mums puts on a plays,its mostly sad ones.After that all of the kids go and grabs there mums lollie necklace, We might go and take my mum out for dinner.

On Sunday my church had White Sunday,this is really important to the Tongans. I was really looking forward to this because I am reading a hymn so that will be really nerve-raking,I am reading with my little niece, after that the little kids said there little verses,it sound so cute how they said it.All the kids were waiting till it finished cause they were all hungry. our whole church was going to eat at Valentines.So we were lucky,I CANT WAIT TILL NEXT YEARS WHITE SUNDAY.

Apitanga

In the Easter holidays lots of family's from my church slept at church, because we had this thing in Tongan called Apitanga. Everyone was so excited In Tongan tradition this is really important for us. Because how God died for our sins, Every night we heard the cookers downstairs the boys sleeps downstairs,and us girls sleeps upstairs. We would eat at the middle of the night and talk and laugh.I think our parents did not appreciate it.So we all kept the volume down.In the next morning we would wake up at 6:00 in the morning.We would have teams I was with the priest the little kids had sports outside ,so they were really LUCKY. We would talk about lots of staff.All the kids couldn't wait till Breakfast started. On Sunday night we had this thing.We had to pick a Judge,if you missed out in any program or did other bad things you did you will get a fine. Before Apitanga people already picked the polices, a girls one and a boys one. My auntie was the judge,she will ask why did they do that thing they got,fine for. She will still fine them she'll talk like it will be a small bill but its like $100 and over but likely the kids didn't get fine. Last year 3 kids got fine. So that was funny how the adults got fine. The money was given all to the priest,cause he just came from Tonga. I REALLY ENJOY APITANGA CANT WAIT TILL NEXT YEARS

Immersion Assembley

When I walked in class I saw Mrs Nua wearing a funny and weird costume. I finally remember that it was Immersion Assembly every term when we come back from the holidays,there is always an Assembly that the teachers have to dress up as the topic that we are going to learn this term.We are learning about Volcanoes. Mrs Nua was Lady Lava she changed the name Lady Gaga into Lady Lava, so that was funny and cool,There were different acts like a Quiz show and other cool staff.

I cant wait till next term to see what fun staff we will be learning about . I Would like to learn about Celebrates and Famous people all around the world.

What a game that was playing against Takitimu,they were pretty Sporty players.There were more girls in our team, cause their wasn't alot of Yr7 boys.I think my team tried there best,Ala was unstoppable,takitumu was really good. They used team work most of the time, they won fair and square. It was 5-3 we nearly got a try at the end but we couldn't, at least we had fun.

HOPE WE DO WELL ON THURSDAY WE ARE PLAYING AGAINST TE ARAWA, SO THAT WILL BE A REALLY GOOD GAME TO WATCH.

On Thursday it was a surprising day, for the Year7. A company called Rock up came from Up North .They came with 3 fun activity we did they were, Archery, Log Jousting and Dunking Tank.It was very nerve braking when I sat on the seat hanging off the tank .It took long to get me down. FINALLY Tamati threw the ball and it hit the target then I fell into the tank with a surprise.It felt very yuck because the water had grass and dirt in it.

This week for Tech at Graphics we FINALLY used the Tamaki College computers. We created different shapes for our project, I choose stars we use a tool called Gradient is to blend colours a bit. It is pretty amazing what kind of tools they use for ICT. There computer are similar to ours ,but there keyboard are like little mini ones.

All we had to do is take photos of us doing one of our KORERO, we have in Assembly. We did more then we were suppose to.We took hours taking the photos, because we couldn't take the photos in the same settings.Lot of us did our own design, this was mine.

Exams

This week has been full of different types of ASTTLE TESTS, It is similar to last years but a whole lot harder. We have just finish doing the Star test, Reading test, Maths test and Writing sample. I think I did well in all of the exams,so I am really proud of myself because I finish the test really well. I really enjoy the Reading test, because on the last section there was commercials then you had to circle a word that inspired you.

The Point England way is really important at Point England School. One of the ways we can try to improve our attitude is by the Korero we have at assembly.It's basically about how we are like during the week, and what do we can do to be better.We have really good rules as well one of the rules I really like is ,treat people the way they want to be treated.The reason why I like this rule is because it is really about treating people like you would want to be treated.We are not allowed to bring Toys or chewing gum to school, the reason why I think that we are not allowed these staff at school , is because you might get disturb during class time.

Before we left to go to Tamaki College, We were full of anticipation because this was our first time attending Tech. Mrs Nua was very annoying, because she kept haranguing as we wandered slowly down the road. When we finally arrived there we saw people we knew.We were busy looking at them instead of listening to instructions.We met a man called Mr Grundy, but the teachers told us to call him 'Sir'. He was the wood work teacher. Then we met a lady that taught graphics her name was Miss Fergusson.

That's who I had for my Tech teacher, I was a little disappointed to start off with because I wanted to do cooking. But graphics was pretty cool learning how to write our names in different ways. She had a really cool accent and she was very funny.

I cant wait till next week, you never know what exciting work we will be doing!

I can't wait till camp starts, only 37 more days. only Year 5, 6 and 7 are attending camp.Last years camp we went to cool places like Bowling, Skate Land and or kinds of fun places. We went kayaking that was amazing no one fell off there boats last year,I dont know about this year. I really liked Camp cooking. We made Biscuits sandwich with marshmellow that was YUM!. We slept outside in tents . We were also protected by our securitys when we were sleeping so they must of been tired so we were lucky.But the awfull thing of all was waking up early in the morning and getting ready to run.

We had Yummy Breakfast and lunch/ dinner. We went to the Rex centre and showered there.

PES Intermediate

Hi my name is Rachael I go to Point England INTERMEDIATE. This is the first time in history that we ever had an intermediate. I am so lucky to come to this intermediate because we are the first kids to come to this intermediate in history. Our real classroom hasn't been built yet but we have been using Rm5 and Rm4. The jobs here are really like responsibility. We even have prefects. But if we want to have a job then we have to do a C .V. I am applying now to help film PENN our school news. We have two different classrooms Rm19 and Rm20 I am in room2o in rm5.
